Principal Dentist
Our Principal Dentist, Dr Shejal Patel BDS, graduated in 1996. Shejal has been working in general dentistry in the UK since 2005 and prior to this she worked overseas as a dentist and has done considerable work for international charities based in East Africa.
Shejal heads up the clinical team and is passionate about her work. Shejal is a great down to earth talker and likes to keep the clinical team working to high standards and in line with the national clinical governance framework.
Our philosophy has come from her constantly quoting to the staff and patients “it is simple, it is about healthy teeth and gums”. Most of her patients would agree that she takes time talking to them about treatments and options. Shejal has special interests in cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers and has attended numerous courses to help patients achieve that perfect smile.
Oral Surgeon
Our Oral Surgeon is Mr. Shawqi Al-Hashemi MBBS, BDS, MFDS RCSI, MFDS RCSEng, FFD RCSI (ORAL SURGERY AND ORAL MEDICINE), Member of the International Congress of the Implantologist
After qualifying in 1998, Mr Al-Hashemi completed his dental training in general practice and Implants placement before entering the NHS hospital service. He has worked in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery units across the country. In 2009 he completed his MBBS from Barts and the London University to pursue a career in Maxillofacial Surgery.
He accepts referral patients from general dental practitioners and also conducts dental implant courses.
Associate
Dr Shivani Patel BDS (Lond) MJDF qualified as a dentist from The Royal London in 2006 and under took her vocational training under the Eastern Deanery in a mixed NHS/private practice in Stevenage. Following completion of her vocational training she has worked as an associate in a mixed NHS and Private practice. In 2007 she continued to develop her academic qualifications and professional experience by successfully completing her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng).
Shivani joined us in July 2009 and is constantly delivering high standards of general dentistry. She is certified by Invisalign (invisible braces) and enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She is a friendly sociable person who works well in our team to provide high quality patient care.
General Manager
Sujit Patel was involved with the delivery of the practice from the start. His education and work background is in Business Administration, Finance and IT. He is also a great believer in keeping things simple and expects his team to provide first class service to all patients. Sujit is also a director of other service related companies and he provides a consultancy service to other dentists and dental practices in the UK.
Sujit has lived in Tilbury since 1980 and is well known to the people living in the area. He is supportive of many community groups and enjoys working with the local people to raise awareness of oral health.
